The Turbo family takes square shoulder milling to the max. Suitable for most roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations, these highly versatile cutters offerlong tool life and high precision via optimized properties that reduce heat generation and cutting forces.

The tools featurea coated, pre-hardened cutter body with two different pitch configurations for meeting tight tolerances and providing high reliability in a broad range of workpiece materials. Not only does this coated/hardened surface protect the tool from wear, it also prevents chips from welding on the cutter body.

Turbo cutters have precision milled pocket seats that improve run-out, stability and tool life by providing optimal contact between the tool body and insert. Integrated through-coolant channels support high productivity and promote excellent chip evacuation.The comprehensive range of inserts, carbide grades and corner radii available for use with Turbo cutters further increase their adaptability, accuracy and reliability. Inserts can be set to a true 90-degree cutting angle to create clean 90-degree walls and eliminate secondary operations. Inserts lock into place via a strong center screw placed in the same direction as cutting forces, and wiper flats optimize surface finishes. Such versatility also makes it possible for Turbo cutters to excel in slotting, ramping, facing, pocketing, plunging and turn milling operations.

Mounting types for the Turbo family include Cylindrical, Weldon, Arbor and Combimaster.

EDGE DOUBLE-SIDED INSERTS

SQUARE T4 - 4-CUTTING-EDGE DOUBLE-SIDED INSERTS

Made for roughing and semi-finishing operations, the Square T4 features four cutting edges and an innovative tangential cutter design that increases the surface area of contact between the insert and the cutter body resulting in good surface finish during slotting, contouring and plunging applications.

The Square T4s strong, reliable pocket seats combined with multi-edge inserts optimize cutting stability and allow for clean 90-degree walls. The inserts mount tangentially in the cutter so that the cutting forces impact the thickest parts of the inserts, allowing manufacturers to achieve the required levels of strength for increased depths of cut with small diameters. The Square T4 also provides a smooth cutting action via positive rake angles with a variable lead angle on the cutting edge.

This T4 Square Shoulder milling cutter is available in T4-08 and T4-12 sizes to bring high metal removal rates and versatility to manufacturers in a wide variety of general milling applications in steels, cast irons and more difficult materials including stainless steels, titanium and heat-resistant super alloys, under appropriate cutting conditions.

The Square T4-08 comes in M08 and MD08 insert geometries and eight different insert grades. Various mounting types include Cylindrical, Weldon, Arbor and Combimaster. Cutting diameters range from 0.625" to 2.5", with a maximum cutting depth of 0.314". Corner radii ranges from 0.016" to 0.063".

The larger Square T4-12 enables a .5" maximum depth of cut for high metal removal rates. It is available in a wide selection of insert grades and geometries, in normal and close pitch versions. Corner radii ranges from 0.031" to 0.125"
