Bio Coal Briquettes

The process of transforming agricultural waste into high density and energy concentrated fuel Briquettes is known as Bio Coal Briquettes. The Bio Coal Briquetting plants come in various sizes. Briquettes are substitutes of lignite coal, fire wood, oil in case of industrial boiler and brick kiln for thermal applications.

Our Bio Coal Briquettes are renewable, eco friendly, non-conventional, economical and non-polluting. The whole procedure of making Bio Coal Briquettes is polluting free and doesnt require any chemical and is therefore 100 % natural. The millions of agricultural waste generated every year is either not used or burnt inefficiently. Owing to their low bulk density, these materials are difficult to transport and handle. Without the addition of any binder, these wastes can prove to be a renewable source of energy by converting them into high-density fuel briquettes. The Briquettes generated from briquetting of Ground Nut Shells are best substitutes for the coal, lignite, firewood.

Features :
  • High specific density : 1200 Kg/m3
  • Bulk density : 800 Kg/m3 compared to just 60 to 180 Kg/m3 of loose Bio Coal.
  • Can stand the ardors of long distance transport
  • Give much higher boiler efficiency because of low moisture and higher density
  • Easy to burn - lower ignition temperature compared to coal.
  • Smokeless burning and sustained combustion and the temperature requirement is achieved due to very efficient combustion.
  • Leaves only white ash without any fixed carbon.
  • Full heat value is utilized.
  • Easy to handle and 1000 kgs of briquettes per cubic meter can be stored and transported against 50 kgs of agro-waste.
  • No pollution to the environment and no toxic gas and sulphur emission and even no odour.
  • Very low ash content as low as 2 to 5% compared to 30 to 49% in coal.
  • No binder is used.
  • The natural polymer lignin acts as a binder and provides mechanical support and also provides resistance to decay and repels water.
  • Very well suited to gasifier which can run any engine because of the combustion efficiency and solid form.
  • In gasifiers the briquettes can be used and the partially pyrolysed briquettes can be again used as a substitute for high value added charcoal for domestic and industrial use leaving the fuel wood unutilized and thus avoiding deforestation.
  • A typical usage of briquettes made out of paper mill sludge mixed with iron sludge power is made in big furnaces to keep the temperature alive foreasy start up.

Benefits :
  • Bio Coal Briquettes are cheaper than coal.
  • Oil, coal or lignite, once used, cannot be replaced.
  • High sulfur content of oil and coal, when burnt, pollutes the environment.
  • There is no sulfur in Briquettes.
  • Bio Coal briquettes have a higher practical thermal value and much lower ash content (2-10% as compared to 20-40% in coal).
  • There is no fly ash when burning Bio Coal Briquettes.
  • Bio Coal Briquettes have consistent quality, have high burning efficiency, and are ideally sized for complete combustion.
  • Combustion is more uniform compared to coal and boiler response to changes in steam requirements is faster due to higher quantity of volatile matter in Bio Coal Briquettes.
  • Bio Coal Briquettes are usually produced near the consumption centers and supplies do not depend on erratic transport from long distances.
  • Thus, all ecological disaster arising from deforestation can be checked.
  • Saves the environment from pollution, all conventional fuel pollutes the atmosphere.
  • Avoids using conventional resources like coal which means that future generation will not be deprived of its utility.
  • Money spent on forestation programmes can be minimized or more land can be forestated.
  • Due to efficient utilization of agro-waste, agriculturists will receive some income from their agro-waste, will make their farming more remunerative and attractive and thereby their standard of living will be improved.
  • Loading/unloading and transportation costs are much less and storage requirement is drastically reduced
  • Briquettes, are easy to store, pack and hygienic to handle.
