The basic architecture of the mixer consists of two or more separately driven agitators that work in tandem to achieve fine solids dispersion, efficient turnover, and uniform heating/cooling.
The fact that Multi-Shaft Mixers are closed systems, as opposed to traditional single shaft devices, gives them an edge in vacuum mixing. A simple dual shaft mixer design includes a saw-tooth disperser blade for quick powder wet-out and dispersion, while a two or three-wing anchor provides a steady exchange of materials from various portions of the vessel.
