After selection of right mix of Graphite for Graphite Diamond tool molds it will undergo machining in our machine shop, which is a combination of various conventional machines and Computer numerically controlled machines. Our materials boast of high thermal conductivity and low co-efficient of thermal expansion, which will give good dimensional stability for the molds. It is very easy to machine
The Thermal Co efficient of expansion of Graphite is 2 3times lesser than copper which will ensure accuracy in die, tool and moulds application.
As Graphite does not melt so the electrode wear is very minimal unlike copper.
Density of Graphite is 4 5 times lesser than copper, which saves money in weight as well results in lighter electrodes.
But EDM electrodes choosing are very important whilst doing sinker EDM. Some factors to be chosen are some materials will erode the material efficiently but wear of electrodes are great and some trials will have slow erosion but will have slow wear. Factors others include as below;-

A crucible is a container used to hold metal for melting in a furnace and it is needed to withstand the extreme temperatures encountered in melting metals. The crucible material must have a much higher melting point than that of the metal being melted and it must have good strength even when white hot.
Graphite crucible can withstand the high temperature, and has good resistance to chemical erosions and thermal shock. Especially graphite crucible is ideal for the melting of aluminum, copper and other metals. Quartz crucible has the advantages of high purity , high temperature resistance, with big size , good thermal insulation, economization on energy , quality stability etc.
Fused quartz crucibles are used in the manufacture of silicon metal for semiconductor wafer applications and polysilicon. In order to produce high quality wafers, starting materials are added to a crucible heated to high temperatures and pulled from the melt as a single crystal. Fused Quartz is one of the few materials that can combine the high purity and high temperature properties required for this process.

Graphite Boats are primarily used for Silicon Carbide and Sintered Cemented Carbide Manufacturing Industry. Isotropic Graphite finds its application in continuous casting dies, EDM electrodes for making of tools and molds, solar cells and fuel cells, sintering industries etc.
CFC primarily finds its application in high temperature Vacuum furnaces, multicrystalline casting furnaces and in inert atmosphere furnaces as an insulation medium. The above furnaces are widely used for metal heat treatment, ceramic sintering, metal sintering, and different types of crystallization production and sintering of monocrystalline silicon for silicon production for semiconductors. Since the above furnaces work in extreme high temperature the above Carbon composite material can withstand high temperatures under controlled environments like vacuum and inert gases. However for conserving and preserving of precious energy quality heat insulating Carbon Fiber composites are of effective choice.
