What is NSD? : National Security Database is a prestigious accreditation program awarded to credible & trustworthy Information security experts with proven skills to protect the National Critical Infrastructure & economy of the country. The database also acts as a security clearance credit for accessing and operating on information for higher positions in the industry. A non-profit project of ISAC, supported by the Government of India, NSD empanelling for an Information Security Professional not only helps in gaining higher credibility but also makes it easier to both the Industry and the Government to identify professionals who can be trusted with protecting sensitive data.

What is ISAC? : A CSR Initiative of Orchid seven, Information sharing and Analysis center (ISAC) is a dependable and trust worthy non-profit organization supported by the Government of India, that has consistently endeavored to protect the Nations Cyber space. Over the last couple of years, ISAC has protected over a million customer accounts, credit cards, commercial and government websites from hacking by its timely Incident response facility.

How Does One Qualify To Be Listed in NSD? : The single largest objective of NSD is to protect the country and its economy from Cyber threats. The selection criteria for qualifying to be listed is based on various factors such as years of experience, certifications, technical skills, passion for Information security, intent to serve others and of course the most important - adherence to code of ethics. When you apply for listing in NSD, you will have to select your area of specialty and undergo a written test / Lab exam along with a mandatory personal interview. If your empanelment is approved, you will be notified accordingly.

Who Has Access To The NSD Database? : The NSD database is only available for the Government of India.

The project aims at helping adults with low technological literacy develop the skills they need to interact in an increasingly digital world.

What is NASSCOM? : NASSCOM Foundation currently serves as the industry’s Secretariat for the National Digital Literacy Mission. Our vision is to leverage Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for empowering and transforming the lives of the underserved. One of the primary reasons behind formation of the Foundation was the commitment of NASSCOM and its member companies to promote social development through the application of ICT. We believe that ICT helps underserved populations access information, services and opportunities which build their capacities to realize their potential.

NDLM  Process :
The training process can be classified into two categories :

• Registration : Eligible beneficiaries will be registered on an online portal by the training centers.
• Training : The registered beneficiaries will be provided a unique Username and Password for online training where besides basic level IT Literacy, the trainees will also be trained to effectively interact with the Govt. System and access G2C & B2C services.

What is NSDC ? : NSDC - The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has been instituted to foster private sector initiatives in skill development. It is a Private Public Partnership (PPP) organization with representatives of Government and Industry Associations on its Board.
