        • installation
          • cut an opening in your feed tray
          • remove the mounting hardware from the magnet
          • set the magnet in the opening in the feed tray and mark the location of the mounting holes
          • remove the magnet and drill the four mounting holes into the feed tray
          • set the magnet back into the opening, insert the cap head screws into the mounting holes, thread the nuts onto the screws from the bottom of the feed tray and tighten appropriately.

Spout Magnets
Star Trace diverter Spout Magnets provide maximum ferrous tramp metal separation in high volume chute applications where wash-off can be a problem. Spot Magnets employ a primary diverter to prevent tramp metal "wash-off". A secondary diverter reduces product degradation by ramping the product over the downstream chute edge.

Self-Cleaning Spout Magnet
Star Trace's Self - Cleaning Spout Magnet provides ferrous tramp metal removal, in chute applications, with remote cleaning. Air cylinders are used to swing magnet and spout face away from chute. While the cylider is moving the Self-Cleaning Spout Magnet, the spout face stops. separating it from the magnet. Once the magnet is separated from the spout face the collected tramp iron is discaded. Air cylinders return both magnet and spout face back to operating position.

Rare Earth (Neodymium) Spout Magnet
Fine particle size separation is now available in a plate magnet. This magnet is substantially stronger than conventional plate magnets. Located in chutes, this rare earth , magnet can capture weakly magnetic iron in dry or wet product flows. This magnet features two liquid tight diverters to prevent captured tramp iron wash-off. Flat Conveyor Plate Magnet
Ideal for wide conveyors, this plate magnet can be manufactured to match your conveyor width. manufacturing process

Consequence of wet pressing is better magnetic properties but poorer physical tolerances. The ferrite magnets that are manufactured by sintering process are given finish machining. Till the time finish machining is not done, surface finishes and tolerances are not acceptable.

Circular Lifting Magnet is designed using high permeability steel casting conforming IS:4491 (BSS-1617). Circular Lifting Magnet is properly designed in order to ensure efficient magnetic circuit. The periphery of the magnet is heavily ribbed to give added mechanical strength and an increased radiation surface to aid cooling. Center & Outer Poles of Circular Lifting Magnet are made from high permeability magnet steel with cored recesses arrangement to protect heads of through tensile bolts. The faces of poles from spigot joints in magnet shell, the outer poles of larger magnets are skirted for added. The pole shoes are easily replaceable.

Shells of Star Trace Lifting Magnets are made from high permeability Steel Casting as per IS:4491(BSS-1617), properly machined, to provide the most efficient magnetic circuit. The periphery of the magnet is heavily ribbed to give added mechanical strength and an increased radiation surface to aid cooling. Center & Outer Poles are machine from high permeability magnet steel with cored recesses arrangement to protect heads of through tensile bolts. The faces of poles from spigot joints in magnet shell, the outer poles of larger magnets are skirted for added. The pole shoes are easily replaceable.

Terminal Box is designed to ensure protection whilst in operation and are of double entry type enabling the leads from the coils to be sealed in a separate cavity. The outside cable is brought through a gland into this second compartment ensuring no possibility of moisture entering the windings.

Magnetizing Coils for magnet size up to 900 mm dia is pure annealed wire wound and above these are strip wound. The glass insulation of class H standard with Fibreglass NOMEX tape forming an interlayer makes coil withstand high temperature.

Bumping Plates are of high grade Manganese Steel Casting as per IS - 276 with heavy ribs for added strength. These are clamped in position by the center and outer poles offering complete protection to the coil. The magnets are suspended with three legged STRING CHAINS made of best quality forged steel terminating in a forged ring. A two core cable is provided for connection with the supply and suitable insulated plug and socket ensure easy operation.

Owing to these attributes, Neodymium is used in magnetic separator, linear actuators, microphone assemblies, servomotors, DC motors (automotive starters). Moreover, Samarium has high resistance to demagnetization, high energy (magnetic strength is strong for its size) and good temperature stability, suitable for computer disc drives, sensors, traveling wave tubes and linear actuators.

      Manufacturing Rare Earth Magnets

      Rare Earth Tolerances
      For as pressed material, tolerance on the thickness (direction of magnetization) is +/- .127mm. Other Dimensions are +/- 2.5% or +/-.254mm, whicherer is greater. According to Magnet Materials Producers Association (MMPA) standards, visual imperfections such as hairline cracks, porosity and minor chips are commonly found in sintered metallic magnets. A chipped edge is considered acceptable if no more than 10% of the surface is missing. Cracks are acceptable as long as they do not extend across more then 50% of of pole surface.

      Rare Earth Machining
      Since rare earth magnet material is prone to chipping and cracking, it does not lend itself to conventional machining methods. It can, however, be abrasively ground, but only with the use of liberal amounts of coolant. The coolant minimizes heat fracturing and the risk of fires caused by oxidized grinding dust.

      Rare Earth Magnetizing and Handling
      Rare earth magnets are very brittle and very strong magnetically. Therefore, it is crucial to handle these magnets with extreme care to avoid personal injury and damage to the magnets. Fingers can be severely pinched between attracting magnets. Magnets can be chip if allowed to "Jump at" an attracting object. It is highly recommended that when constructing rare earth magnetic assemblies, they be magnetized after assembly.

      Cage Style T Traps
      T-Trap Magnetic Separators are especially designed for heavy duty, large volume liquid and semi-liquid line flow systems. Installation of the Plate Style magnet can be in any position. Vertical position eliminates the sump area, and in horizontal lines, cleaning is made easier when the magnet element is installed on top.       Shells of Star Trace Lifting Magnets are made from high permeability Steel Casting as per IS: 449 (BSS- 1617), properly machined, to provide the most efficient Magnetic Circuit. The periphery of the magnet is heavily ribbed to give added mechanical strength and an increased radiation surface to aid cooling. Center & Outer Poles are machined from high permeability Magnet Steel with Cored recesses arrangement to protect heads of through tensile bolts. The faces of poles from spigot joints in Magnet shell, the outer poles of larger Magnets are skirted for added protection. The pole shoes are easily replaceable.

      Terminal Box is designed to ensure protection whilst in operation and is of double entry type enabling the leads from the coils to be sealed in a separate cavity. The outside cable is brought through a gland into this second compartment ensuring no possibility of moisture entering the windings.

      Magnetizing Coils for magnet size up to 900 mm dia is pure annealed wire wound and above these are strip wound. The glass insulation of class H standard with Fibre glass NOMEX tape forming an interlayer makes coil withstand high temperature.

      Bumping Plates are of high grade Manganese Steel Casting as per IS - 276 with heavy ribs for added strength. These are clamped in position by the center and outer poles offering complete protection to the coil. The magnets are suspended with three legged STRING CHAINS made of best quality forged steel terminating in a forged ring. A two core cable is provided for connection with the supply and suitable Insulated plug and socket ensure easy operation.
