After pouring thermit steel in the rail gap and upon its solidification, there is excess weld metal left over the rail head. The Rail Profile Grinder is a versatile and easy to operate machine. The trimmed joint can be ground easily within the specified tolerances in less than 15 minutes. The machine is fitted with frictionless rollers that hold it against the rail head.

This system is designed for pre-heating the rail ends for welding by the alumino-thermic process. The joint is preheated for a moderately low period thereby achieving better metallurgical characteristics by minimizing the width of the heat affected zone.

Considering the need to rapidly inspect the track, before and after welding, we have developed a motorized inspection trolley. Some unique features of the trolley are a sturdy and light weight design, smooth running on the track and ease of portability.
