Its sensing parts are:- earth extension (body) compensation shield sensing rod these parts form three capacitance's shield earth capacitance shield sense capacitance sense earth capacitance a sine wave of high frequency is fed into both sensing rod as well as compensation shield. Voltage at shield is equal to voltage at sense, no effective current flows between sense and shield. This removes shield-sense capacitance from the measurement, shield-earth capacitance is ignored by circuit. This removes the effect of material coating on probe. Material is detected by measuring sense-earth capacitance.

The capacitance is sum of three capacitance :- c(air)=ε(air) × p × (h - l) c(material)=ε(material) × p × l c(residual) is due to device itself. where ε(air) is the dielectric constant of air ≈1. Ε(material) is dielectric constant of material. p is constant of probe and installation, h is the active length of probe and l is the level of material. capacitance to level translation is performed with the aid of on-site calibration also called "wet-calibration" the device stores a low level capacitance as level for 4ma and high level capacitance as level for 20ma as defined by the user. using these values and following equation. c(high) c(low) l(high) l(low) = ------------------------------ p × {ε(material) ε(air)} device creates a chart of level to 4-20ma translation.

Working principle Pressure P(liq) on any surface and container walls at depth h, by the liquid of desnity d, is: P(liq) = d × g × h + P(air) where P(air) is the air pressure and g is the acceleration due to gravity (constant for a given place) at the place of liquid container. Replacing constants the equation becomes: P(liq) - P(air) = K × h in short: Pressure difference represents liquid level. One convenient unit that clubs pressure with level is mHO (pressure felt at depth inmeters while being immersed in water) Trumen hydrostatic pressure transmitter utilizes pressure exerted by liquid P(liq) and substract it by air pressure P(air) using a single pressure sensitive diaphragm and air-vent in connection cable. As Trumen hydrostaticpressure transducer is immersed deeper in the liquid, the P(liq) becomes higher than P(air) and the diphragm minutely deforms. This diaphragm deformation can't be seen visibly, but it is caught by piezo-resistive sensors secured on the sensitive diaphragm. Thus pressure exerted by liquid is sensed by Trumen hydrostatic sensor which is directly denotes the depth from the surface of liquid.
