Description : AXXON-7020 Silicone potting and Encapsulating compound is a pourable rubber base which, with the addition of catalyst, becomes a firm, flexible rubber when cured at room temperature. The cured rubber exhibits good di-electric AND OTHER MECHANICAL properties.

• AXXON-7020 can be used for a broad range of mechanical and electrical/ electronic applications. Such applications include potting and encapsulating electrical coils, connectors and printed circuit boards.

Surface Preparation : Thoroughly clean the substrate with a non-oily solvent such as Axxon - 410. Then apply the catalyzed AXXON-7020 to the surface and allow to cure as recommended.

How to Apply :

• Select a mixing container 3-4 times larger than the volume of AXXON-7020 to be used. Weigh out the base compound (Part-A) and stir base material well before adding the appropriate amount of catalyst (Part-B).
• With clean tools, thoroughly mix the base compound and catalyst, scraping the sides and bottom of the container carefully, to produce a homogenous mixture. When using power mixers, avoid excessive speeds which could entrap large amounts of air or cause overheating of the mixture, resulting in shorter pot life.
• Air entrapped during mixing should be removed to eliminate voids in the cured product. Expose the mixed material to a vacuum of 50-25 mm of mercury. The material will expand, crest and recede to about the original level as the bubbles break. When using AXXON-7020 for potting, a de-airing step might be necessary after pouring to avoid trapping air in complex assemblies
