URMI is manufacturing basin type solar distillation system in this system solar radiation heats water inside the basin & heats the water basin is covered by glass which protect the heat mass of water generated by solar energy, resulted water is evaporated and vapor condense on the bottom surface of the glass, and collect in the carboy put below the basin. One sq. meter area of solar distillation system generate @ 2 litre of distilled water per day. This system is used in Hospital, Laboratories, and places where problem for drinking water.

The Solar Distillation Plants can be used for producing distilled water to cater to the need of various sectors.

In 1986, Mr. Kirit H. Patel started his own manufacturing unit of Solar Water Heating System under the name of ENERGY EQUIPMENTS with the Band name URMI SOLAR. URMI SOLAR SYETMS LTD was incorporated in the year 1997. URMI, has grown to be the leading & reputed manufacturer of Solar Water Heating Systems in Gujarat.
Before establishing URMI SOLAR SYSTEMS Ltd, Mr. Patel worked for more than 8 years in field of manufacturing, project and installation of basic engineering products like heat exchangers, fans and blower, pressure vessels and Plant equipment, water pumping wind mills, solar water heaters, solar cookers, solar distillation. With such a rich experience a first generation techno crate Mr. Patel took the initiative to start up the manufacturing unit with a vision to excel in the field of solar thermal devices.
Today Mr. Patel excelled in all the field of the society he being the techno crate handled his organization single handedly with only 5 employees and today he has more 15 employees working to achieve the excellence in the entire field.
He has been awarded with AMA Metrochem Outstanding Manager of Year by Ahmedabad Management Association for the year 2008.
He is been President of VATVA INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION since year 2004 till today. With his dedication and hard work he has succeeded in fulfilling his social responsibility by providing VATVA Industrial Estate good infrastructure.
