Fairchild Controls partnered with Raytheon Systems to develop a fully integrated Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infra-Red (ATFLIR) pod. Our system delivers and modulates the cooling for the electronics in the ATFLIR pod. This pod is in service on the F-18 CD aircraft and is also being offered for other applications including the F-15 and F-16. Fairchild Controls is Raytheon’s exclusive cooling sub-system partner in all these applications. As with a majority of the systems and components offered by Fairchild Controls, our Air Management Systems can be customized or newly designed per customer requirements

The Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Filtration System designed and manufactured by Fairchild Controls provides 310 cfm of clean filtered air to occupants for all manned compartments onboard the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) of the U.S. Marine Corp. The engineering team designed the system to be compact and for operation in extremely harsh environment; the Fairchild Controls system has been fielded and proven to be highly reliable.

This system is installed on the U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) to provide cooling for the crew and mission critical electronics. The EFV is a heavy assault platform with stringent environmental requirements. Fairchild Controls developed this thermal management system for General Dynamics Land Systems. The vapor cycle system is driven hydraulically and produces 25.4 kWs of cooling into two distributed systems. The system is composed of an air handling unit, a compressor motor unit, and a nuclear, biological, and chemical filtration system.

The supplemental cooling system (SCS) was designed and is currently being manufactured by Fairchild Controls’ for the Airbus A380 aircraft. The SCS provides cooling for all the food trolleys situated throughout the aircraft as well as the in-flight entertainment electronics. The system also provides cooling for aircraft avoinics during hot ground operation

The Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Filtration System on the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) of the U.S. Marine Corp, contains a 2.8 kW variable speed fan controller that manages discrete inputsoutputs, boost to 350 VDC, and drives a brushless DC (BLDC) motor

The Fairchild Controls’ supplemental cooling system (SCS) onboard the A380 commercial airliner includes a 30kW motor controller, DCU and IO board that are all integrated into one package. The Fairchild Controls’ galley cooling system controller, incorporates numerous safety provisions required to meet all of the customers’ specifications; including operation within a fuel vapor zone. The controller includes a safe board for hardware, detection and isolation of overheat, over-voltage and excessive current. An EMC board is also included for detection of unbalanced phase and input power bus distortion. Temperature sensors are installed on the walls on the controller as well as the cold plate and high power devises

The Air Drive Unit (ADU) 2000 incorporates the most advanced design standards and concepts in air drive technology. It was specifically designed for the Boeing 767-400ER aircraft. Each of the six system sub-assemblies were custom designed and were not derivatives of existing production hardware. The ADU 2000 is a high capacity (120 HP) turbine driven gearbox, and its associated control elements, used to power a hydraulic pump to meet aircraft peak hydraulic power demands. The system components consist of a modulating and shut off valve, turbine gearbox assembly exhaust muffler, and electronic control card
