High Density Polyethylene has a good chemical resistance to almost all acids and bases, detergents and hot water. HDPE has good insulation properties and is easy to weld. The operating temperature is from -58 °F to +194 °F. Acetal can be used in temperatures rangeing from -58 °F to +230 °F. The high surface strength is only surpassed by a few materials. POM shows good sliding properties and high resistance to wear and tear because of the high strength and smooth surface. There is a very low risk of stress cracks. POM-C (Co-polymer) exhibits a good thermal stability and a good resistance to chemicals (high resistance to hydrolysis). Acrylnitrile Butadiene Styrene copolymer has a good thermal and dimensional stability and high impact strength (also at low temperature). It is strong, shows a good scratch resistance and has a good dimensional stability. ABS can be used in temperatures ranging from -58 °F to 158 °F. Polyvinylchloride is rated self-extinguishing, has an exceptional chemical resistance and is easy to machine. PVC shows high mechanical strength, tensile strength and can be used in applications ranging in temperatures from +5 °F to +140 °F. With repeated UV exposure the material may change color and exhibit a slight increase in tensile strength as well as a slight decrease in impact strength. It can also be easily solvent cemented and welded. is a Co-Polymer Polypropylene that offers excellent impact strength and chemical resistance as well as high mechanical and tensile strength. GEHR PP-C has good notched impact strength, is easy to weld and has an excellent resistance to stress cracking. The operating temperatures ranges from -22 °F to +190 °F. Polymethyl methacrylate shows a good mechanical strength, tensile strength and hardness. PMMA is also scratch-resistant and easy to polish. It shows a good temperature resistance and UV-stability. The operating temperature of PMMA ranges from -40 °F to +167 °F. Nylon shows both a high thermostability (temperature resistant from -40 °C to approx. +100 °C) and high stiffness, hardness and toughness. These are some of the main characteristics. Due to the fact, that the good mechanical characteristics will be achieved only after conditioning, this material must be conditioned again after annealing. In addition, this conditioning occurs with a longer storage in air automatically. he linear Polyphenylensulfide belongs to the semi-crystalline materials and offers a very high mechanical capacity, thermal- and chemical resistance distinguished at the same time (usual operating temperature up to approximately +300 °F), high dimensional stability and creep strength. The LOI belongs to the highest of the Polymers. By the reinforcement with glass fibres strength is achieved, which is comaparable with light metal. PPS closes the gap between the technical synthetics and PEEK with its strength and economy. Polyphenylenether belongs to the group of the amorphous materials and can be used in temperatures ranging from -58 °F to approx. +302 °F. PPE exhibits a high impact strength, a low water absorption, a very high dimensional stability and a very low tendency to creep. The electrical properties will not be influenced by the surrounding frequencies and therefore can be used in a lot of applications in electrical engineering. Polysulfone shows great thermal stability (from -148 °F to +320 °F). PSU possesses a high mechanical strength, very good dielectric properties and hydrolysis resistance, high radiation resistance and self-extinguishing (permeable for microwaves). PSU has a low notch impact strength.
