. Cross Company supplies 15% platinum clad by weight, molybdenum in both wire and flat ribbon. It is used as the welding interface between the etched molybdenum, the lamp electrode and lead wire. The platinum clad molybdenum is manufactured under the same stringent controls as the etched molybdenum and is more economical as a welding flux than the pure platinum used for years.
