Strong lift legs and a release valve combine to make for stable lifting and smooth lowering of heavy objects. An external hose coupler allows the user to attach an external pump. The combination of a low friction and accurately guided roller can be very useful, especially if the distance is great and the final placement needs to be precise. Additionally, if the item being moved requires careful handling, accuracy ensures integrity of the final project. An Accu-Roll Guidance System is an addition to a Hilman Roller that is designed to better integrate the roller with some type of uniform track, for the purpose of maintaining positive alignment during a move. Accu-Roll Systems can be designed for virtually any roller but mostly it is the XYS, ERF, OTNTT and SHD Series Rollers that benefit most. In general the OTNTT-Series and the SHD-Series are the most common to utilize Accu-Roll systems. As standard designs they offer the most versatile platforms to start from in terms of the range of capacities and variety of top styles. Hilman Rollers with Accu-Roll work best on steel flat bars and structural shapes; such as inverted channels, I-beams and Wide-flanged beams. When selecting a track it is important to make certain that the width and thickness properly accommodate the width of a roller’s footprint where it is intended to be in contact on the track. It is also important to consider the sub-surface of the track to make sure it is supported properly.

Occasional applications may benefit from the integration of hydraulic cylinders, either as motive force or to lift a load for a specific reason; or both. Hilman has supplied several different combinations of hydraulically integrated skidding systems for use on land and at sea. Hilman can provide complete controls for a turnkey solution.

Hilman Rollers can be used in corrosive environments with a high degree of confidence so long as they are manufactured with the proper materials. Stainless Steels and epoxy coatings can prolong the life of Hilman Rollers when used in offshore applications or in environments that are otherwise corrosive. ABS, DNV and Lloyd’s certifications are among Hilman’s credentials and certified for offshore applications.

Keyway Rollers are a unique way of providing a guidance system to a Hilman Rollers. Whereas an Accu-Roll Guidance System is external of the standard size roller frame, a Keyway Roller has what we call an internal Guidance System. The keyway style chain is designed to remain centered to the frame (straight or radius). This type of chain should be used on high cycle life applications or applications where the roller may be used in a vertical manner. Keyway Chains have a groove machined into the rolls that mates with a track that is machined into the roller frame’s load plate
