For outstanding high-temperature performance over and above epoxy (Lytex®) and phenolic ESC® materials, Sheet Molding Compounds using Bismaleimide (BMI) and Polyimide resin matrices combined with carbon fiber or fiberglass reinforcements are available for compression molded parts solutions.

Fiberglass-reinforced vinyl ester and polyester composites with unusual toughness and excellent retention of physical properties over a wide range of temperatures. QC-8800, QC-8700 and QC-8560 family of composite materials provide a unique combination of properties for structural applications combining expected composite advantages of light weight, corrosion resistance, electrical insulation with unusual toughness and strength.

Quantum Composites ESC® phenolic materials are available in a variety of configurations with fiberglass and carbon fiber reinforcement and a range of phenolic resins, fillers and additive combinations, tailored to the requirements of specific industries and applications.

Lytex® ESC® consists of chopped fiberglass or carbon fiber in a specially formulated epoxy resin matrix. This results in high strength and cost-effective solutions for tough composite design problems. Lytex® high fiber reinforced epoxies deliver superior shear strength and thermal stability, and have higher flexural strength at elevated temperature than polyesters and vinyl esters. They also exhibit very good retention of flexural strength after cycling. Lytex 9063 is 63% fiberglass-reinforced epoxy. Lytex 4149 is 55% carbon fiber reinforced.
