Imagine the convenience of being able to listen to music from any room, or even outside. Whole-home audio distribution allows this to become a reality. You can have one centrally located music source, feeding audio to the master bedroom, dining room, kitchen, patio, pool or any other area in your residence. Using a keypad in each room you can locally activate the system, control the volume and select a different music source. You can even plug your iPod into your keypad and use it as a music source! More sophisticated systems have LCD touchscreen panels for system control and multiple music sources so that different music may be played in different rooms One of the biggest advantages of having this type of solution installed is that it pays for itself because it reduces the number of different audio sources you may have throughout the entire home. Prices on these systems have come down dramatically in recent years, and they can be installed in as little as two rooms or as many as you need. We use equipment from several different manufacturers including NuVo, Russound and ONQ among others.

The experience of watching a movie in a theater is unparalleled. The large screen and incredible sound can make you feel like you're part of the action. However, going to the movie theater is not always possible. We can provide that same experience, without leaving the comforts of your home! How? By installing a home theater. A basic home theater system can be created by combining your TV and stereo to create a better environment for watching TV and movies. However, most home theater systems require choosing electronics to specifically match the needs of a user, positioning components to provide the best sound and video, and crafting a system that is invisible to the user and also extremely easy to use. At the heart of the system are the audio and video sources. This is where all audio and video signals originate. Some examples include a cable or satellite box, DVD player, CD player, and VCR. The quality of an audiovideo source directly impacts the quality of the experience. It is therefore, very important to match source components with both the display, and an audio receiver. Speakers are the final, and possibly most important, component in a home theater. A typical system consists of five or seven speakers and a low frequency subwoofer, each playing a different role. Speakers must be matched to both the amplifier and to the size and shape of a room. Final speaker placement is crucial to ensure the best experience possible. And of course, there is the TV itself. There are all types of display technologies available today: CRT, DLP, LCD and plasma just to name a few. We will consult with you on your needs and requirement and give you the appropriate device. Adding to the confusion, are today's choices for new High Definition Televisions (HDTV). Just because you buy a plasma TV, for instance, does not mean that you are going to receive HDTV. All these facts make it even more crucial to consult a professional to ensure that you settle on the right display for your needs.

Years ago, building owners and general contractors did not pay attention to low voltage wiring. Telephone wires were owned by Ma Bell. There was nothing called the Internet. Quite often the cable company provided it’s wiring as well. Times have changed. With the advent of deregulation and advances in technology, structured cabling systems are now an important part of the infrastructure of any building. In fact, structured cable is now often called “the fourth utility” or “digital plumbing”. There are many applications that rely on the structured cable systems comprised of low voltage wiring: Voice Audio Video High Speed Data Lighting Control Security CCTV There are many different cable types to be dealt with: Cat 3, Cat5, Cat6, RG6, RG11 and fiber optics to name a few. Each cable type has different characteristics and must be selected for the application. The structured cable system in a building must be carefully designed to meet the building’s current infrastructure requirements, as well as provide “future-proofing”, or support for new applications in the future. The structured cable system should be able to last for 20-30 years before being replaced. Industry associations, standards bodies and manufacturers have banded together to develop proper design procedures and methodologies for designing structured cable systems. Robin Technologies has designed and installed structured cable systems for many different environments. Whether it’s wiring a new condominium for HDTV or a commercial office building for Gigabit Ethernet, give us a call to help you with your next project.

This is the foundation for your "connected" or "smart" home. Structured cabling allows you to easily add all types of services and applications without requiring recabling. It refers to all of the wires and cable behind and through the walls, ceilings and floors of your home. Often called “digital plumbing”, these cables are connected between the multimedia outlets in your house to various modules or interfaces (audio, video, telephone, data, etc.) within a structured wiring enclosure (The structured wiring enclosure goes by many names including media center, distribution center, multi-media system, etc. All these terms refer to the same device, which is pictured on this page). This enclosure, usually installed in the basement or in a closet, is the central hub through which the distribution of your residential systems is accomplished. Other important components include the wires and cable that run from the enclosure to the multimedia outlets in the various locations throughout the house. In the future, if you ever decide to sell your home, you'll find that the initial investment in structured wiring also protects your home from becoming technologically obsolete - safeguarding your investment and maximizing your home's resale value. Structured wiring solutions work well in all residential environments of all types, and there is no minimum or maximum size square footage required for structured wiring.
