Our compression springs range in wire sizes from .006" through .472". That includes conical, barrel-shaped, hourglass-shaped, variable pitch and outside diameter configurations. Extension springs range from 0.012” – 0.250”, and can have numerous loop configurations and end treatments. We also produce torsion and double torsion springs in wire sizes ranging from .006" through .187". Our short run capabilities are available for larger sizes. We also manufacture custom flat clock and motor springs in endless styles with special ends, attachments, and configurations.

At Southern Spring & Stamping we can perform stamping operations that include progressive die, compound die, deep draw, slide forming, and more. Our production assets include presses that range from 5-tons to 165-tons and have 12.0” coil lines that allow us to process materials from 0.004” to 0.187” in thickness. In addition, we have multislide and Vertislide presses for long-run capabilities. This diversity allows us to stamp parts in a wide range of shapes and sizes using a variety of alloys. This can range from common materials like aluminum and stainless steel, to exotic materials like Inconel or soft copper. We can do this while upholding tolerances as tight as ±0.001”. We design and fabricate all of our own tooling in-house. From soft tooling for prototyping or limited volumes to high-strength production tooling for runs that involve millions of units. In addition to precision stamping, we offer numerous options for secondary processing and finishing. Our in-house capabilities include deburring, painting, and packaging, and we have developed partnerships with providers of quality plating, heat treating, and numerous other services. All of our processes are quality-certified, and we employ statistical process controls to monitor accuracy, minimize variability, and produce a consistently high rate of conforming product. We machine metals in a variety of grades and temper, including stainless steel, aluminum, aircraft alloys, copper, and many more. Our team of skilled professionals can design and build dedicated work holding fixtures as well as custom product fixturing solutions to promote repeatable production. In addition to milling, drilling, and boring; we can create complex thread profiles, and internal forms on workpieces that measure up to 40.0” in length x 20.0” in height.
