The polyester film motor shroud shown here is used within an automotive electrical application. We developed this product over 30 years ago with a client who manufactures electrical components. The product is still in production today in various forms and has been produced in many different sizes. This particular example features an outside diameter of 1.017", an inside diameter of 0.520" (minor), and with a thickness of 0.005". Because of this application's need for precision it is also held to tolerances of ±0.0005". We can typically develop new tooling in eight weeks, and produce ongoing orders in as little as two weeks. The product highlighted here can be found in almost any household with children who have stuffed animals. We developed this simple product to allow a toy manufacturer to produce stuffed animals with movable limbs. What began as a small order for a local customer has grown into a product line that is distributed worldwide. These fiber disks can be manufactured in sizes ranging from .250" to 3.00" O.D., .070" to .125" I.D., and in thicknesses from 116" to 18". All parts, manufactured utilizing our open die cutting capabilities, on our mechanical punch press are subject to stringent quality control. We have produced orders ranging from 2, 000 to 50, 000 with lead times of three weeks. The electrical insulator shown above was developed in-house by our staff in conjunction with the client. The customer gave us their specifications for the insulator and upon ispection, their initial plan would require a costly manufacturing process. Working with them we developed a custom process that fully utilized our strengths, and allowed us to produce a product that not only met their requirements, but was much less expensive to manufacture.
