Usha Martins integrated steel plant near Jamshedpur has one million tonne capacity and is one of the Indias largest speciality steel plant in long product segment. The process route is Blast Furnace, Sponge Iron, Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Refining Furnace, Vacuum Degassing, and Continuous Casting Machines and Rolling Mill is supported by in-house ore beneficiation, Sinter, Coke-oven, Pellet, DRI, Power Plant, and Lime kilns. The state of the art wire rod mill produces wire rods (in coil form) in size range of 5.5 mm to 25.4 mm diamter. The wire rod from Usha Martin finds application in Industrial Fasteners, Automobile springs, Industrial springs, Welding, Auto components, Roller bearing, Ball bearings, Industrial chains, Automobile chains, etc. Approvals from prominent companies like Sundram Fasteners, NHK Springs, ESAB, ADOR, LGB, Indian Link Chains, Indian Chains etc. is attributable to the high quality wire rods produced by Usha Martin.

UM Cables Ltd operates in the manufacturing and servicing of Aerial Copper Cable, Underground Optical Fiber Cables, Optical Fiber Cables, Jelly Filled Copper Cable (Armoured Duct) for more than 60 years. 65 Million Conductor Kilometers manufactured and Supplied by UM Cables is already in use in the Telecom Network in India & abroad.

Usha Martins Machinery division is located in Ranchi facility and manufactures a wide range of industrial machines including wire drawing machines, stranding machines, wire rope closing machines, Steel plant equipments, Material Handling Equipments, Machines for manufacturing bright bars, Machines for armouring and rewinding, Copper coating lines for CO2 welding wire manufacture. Machinery Division is a regular source of equipment for various leading Wire, Rope and Cable companies in various parts of the world, including India, Thailand, Yugoslavia, U.K, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. It is equipped with a modern machine shop with a fleet of CNC turning centers and machining centers, dynamic balancing machines, sophisticated measuring & inspection facilities and a fabrication shop equipped with PUG cutting machine and SAW welding facilities. It includes facility for design and manufacturing of Electrical panels. It has highly skilled manpower to produce some of the best machines in the industry. The Machinery Division of Usha Martin Group was established in Bangalore in the year 1974 to manufacture Wire Drawing and allied machines. This unit was later relocated to Ranchi during the year 2003. The Machinery Division was started originally with Technical Collaboration from Ms. Marshall Richards Barrow of U.K. It has also collaborated with internationally reputed firms like Soberer Maschinenfabrik, Germany; Redaelli Tecna Meccanica, Italy and De-Angeli Industrie SPA, Italy and HI-Draw Machinery Ltd, U.K.

Bright Bars are processed through various types of forming operations such as machining, punching, slotting, cutting, drilling, knurling and are available in a wide range of sizes and grades.

With expertise that extends to both pre- and post-tensioning products, Usha Martins prestressing operations cover a multitude of specialised industry applications. Used extensively by major construction companies in India, the post-tensioning products such as anchorage, sheathing, multi-pull and single-pull hydraulic jacks and pumps, grout pumps and agitators are manufactured at Usha Ismal Division at Ranchi. Pre-tensioning products include grips, wire jacks, hand pumps and power-operated pumps.
