The water to be cooled is connected into the tower at the top in main header pipe and is distributed by branch pipes with splash cap (nozzles) with a low pressure drop, and flows down, in the form of a thin water film and small droplets, over the largest possible fill surface for the heat transfer. The water falls through the fill and is collected in a FRP basin at the bottom of the tower. The atmospheric air is sucked in through the opening for air inlet on all sides at the lower portion of the tower and moves up through the PVC fill. The air moving up cools the falling water. Here the transfer of heat takes place by evaporation and direct contact. The air inlet is covered by PVC Mesh for free flow of air.   Selection of materials : The selection of materials for the POLO S Series cooling towers is based on the requirement that they must be completely resistant to corrosion and chemicals. "Electrostatic Type Non-chemical On Line Scale Preventer" The Two Main Components of The System For Electrostatic Scale-off water treatment scale preventer : Treating Chamber Power Control Panel The treating Chamber basically consists of two elements. One is the cylindrical Stainless steel chamber-Negative electrode through which the water flows. At the center of this chamber is a core covered by a dielectric sheath –positive electrode. Water enters the Chamber of the bottom and spirals around the core as its travels upwards the bottom and spirals around the core as travels upwards to the outlet. When the water passes through the S.S. Chamber the equilibrium of the hardness causing ions is disturbed due to the high electrostatic field. This converts the scale forming ions into a non-adhesive type of sludge are effective in controlling scale through the formation of colloidal particles. As the water, bearing ions of calcium (negatively charged) and bicarbonates (positively charged), flow through the area between a charged electrode and a grounded plane, the direction of movement of the ions in solution is changed. They are either pulled toward or pushed from the electrostatic field, depending upon their charge. As these particles come into contact with one another they will begin to form particles of calcium carbonate and will move from solution to suspension in the water. In a suspended form (colloidal particle state), they are now relatively stable particles that are not inclined to Electrostatic field out or form deposits. They will remain in suspension in the fluid until they are removed by blow-down, filtration or precipitation. As ions move from solution to suspension, the water is now able to carry or attract other ion solution. As this occurs, existing scale deposits are gradually dissolved and removed. Electrostatic Type Water Treatment System (With Nominal Input Power) The eScale-Off system controls scaling by changing scale forming ions to neutral molecules with our positively charged electrode and ground. These stable molecules stay in suspension rather than attaching to wetted surfaces as scale. This is done on a continual basis during the normal recirculation of water past our electrodes. Removing the ions from the water also allows the water to dissolve existing deposits. The continual recirculation of the water also controls biological growth by raising the pH of the water and by the flow of water through our electrical fields. These stable particles or “seed crystals” stay in suspension rather than plating out on heat exchange surfaces.
