In Lamivudine/Zidovudine Tablet, Zidovudine has been associated with hematologic toxicity including neutropenia and anemia, particularly in patients with advanced HIV-1 disease. Lamivudine/Zidovudine Tablet should be used with caution in patients who have bone marrow compromise evidenced by granulocyte count less than 1, 000 cells/mm³ or hemoglobin less than 9.5 g/dL .
SIDE EFFECTS
This medication may cause lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the body, which can be fatal). Lactic acidosis can start slowly and get worse over time.Get emergency medical help if patient have even mild symptoms of lactic acidosis, such as: muscle pain or weakness, numb or cold feeling in arms and legs, trouble breathing, stomach pain, nausea with vomiting, fast or uneven heart rate.
