Acid slurry is a sulphonation product made by sulphonation of linear alkyl benzene by oleum or so3 or sulphuric acid. It is used in manufacturing of various detergents. The acid slurry is neutralized in the preparation of liquid detergents by a slow addition of caustic soda solution till it is neutralized. It is Biodegradable.Acid slurry is a highly active substance with a low salt concentration that is easily miscible with water. The acid slurry is also often employed in a variety of compositions. The acid slurry is commonly used in the production of synthetic laundry detergent powders and liquids.

HOW IT WORKS-

• It acts as a water softener and an emulsifier to prevent the fading of clothing fibres.
• It works by removing dirt and oil from the clothing and preventing them from being redeposited during the wash.

CONCENTRATION AND SOLUBILITY-

• It is recommended that it should be used at a concentration of 5 to 8%.
• It is soluble in water but is insoluble in alcohol.

HOW TO USE-

• Take a portion of the acid slurry that is above 80 C and place it in a bucket of water.
• Mix it with the formulation at a temperature above 80 C.
• Blend them properly until the acid slurry is homogeneously mixed with the other ingredients.

CONCENTRATION AND SOLUBILITY-

• The recommended concentration is 3%-40% depending on the type of formulation.
• It is soluble in water and insoluble in oil.

HOW TO USE-

• Melt the surfactants of choice.
• Add our AOS to the melted surfactant base.
• Pour the base into the cold water phase and then add the oil phase to it.
• Stir and adjust the pH.

STABILITY/ SHELF LIFE

• Two years under proper storage. Store in a dry, cool place, away from moisture and heat.
• Alpha olefin sulfonate is stable at an extensive pH range and suitable for use in acidic environments.

SLES is commonly used in the production of shampoo, wetting agents in the textile sector, and firefighting foams. Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate is primarily used in the textile sector for shampoo and the make of wetting agents.
