Dampers are designed to prevent fire and smoke from spreading from a fire source through the ventilation system and into other parts of the building. Depending on their application, fire dampers have different fire-resistance classes (called fire-duration ratings) and can be installed in concrete or masonry walls and in lightweight partition walls.
Fire rated for 1 1.5 hours (UL-555) and leakage rated as class I, II, III or IV (UL555S). Temperature rated at 250-degrees F or 350-degrees F (UL555S). Dampers are provided with a galvanized steel sleeve and qualified electric of pneumatic actuators. Patented Pneumatic Emergency Relief Valve (P.E.R.V.) is featured on standard pneumatic models.
Fire dampers are fire rated for 1 1.5 hours or 3 hours and come with a static or dynamic rating and a 1650 fusible link. Optional features include a 2120 fuse link, various sleeve lengths and gauges, thin line frame, Type C housing for round or oval ductwork and stainless steel material.
