Barytes/Baryites is the naturally occurring mineral form of barium sulphate. Its main properties are its high specific gravity, high refractive index, good wetability, low bulking value, very low solubility, non-toxic, and also chemically and physically unreactive.

ApplicationsAPI grade Barite (Barium sulphate , BaSO4) with purity exceeded 90%. It is commonly used as the weighting agent to increase the density of all type of drilling fluids. It is grind to API specific size 3 to 74 um, with minimum of 97% with size Less than 74 um. It has carbonate contaminates of less than 250ppm with average analyzed value of 115ppm. It is also recognized radiation shielding properties allowing use in X-Ray room, operating theaters and as a plaster adjunct for radiation emitting structures
