Salicylic acid peels are a type of beta hydroxy (BHA) peel. Salicylic acid peels can be quite strong and penetrating, more so than AHA peels. This makes it one of the most preferred ingredients for tackling problematic skin. For exfoliation purposes, it helps the dead epidermal skin cells to shed, exposing new, more vibrant and healthy cells below. It also penetrates deep into clogged pores to remove dirt. Once pores have been penetrated and unclogged. It helps prevent them from clogging by constricting their diameter. This helps minimize future dirt and oil from building up in the skin.
