Technical Specifications of Corrugated Boxes
1) Paper Quality & GSM Options
We manufacture corrugated boards using high-quality kraft paper made from virgin and recycled fibers. GSM selection depends on required box strength and application.
Paper Layer Common GSM Range Purpose
Outer Liner (Top Kraft) 120 – 300 GSM Printing surface, burst strength, stacking strength
Fluting Medium 100 – 180 GSM Cushioning, compression resistance
Inner Liner (Bottom Kraft) 100 – 250 GSM Structural support, rigidity
Paper quality options: Virgin Kraft, Semi-Kraft, Test Liner, Recycled Kraft, Moisture-Resistant Kraft.
2) Flute Types (Corrugation Profile)
Flutes are the wavy layers that create cushioning and strength.
Flute Type Thickness (approx.) Flutes per foot Key Use
A Flute 4.5 – 5.0 mm ~33–36 Maximum cushioning, fragile items
B Flute 2.5 – 3.0 mm ~47–53 Good crush resistance, retail boxes
C Flute 3.5 – 4.0 mm ~39–43 General purpose shipping boxes
E Flute 1.2 – 1.8 mm ~85–95 Thin walls, die-cut/printed cartons
Combinations:
3 Ply: Single wall (e.g., C or B flute)
5 Ply: Double wall (e.g., BC, AB flute)
7 Ply: Triple wall for heavy-duty/export use
3) Ply Combinations (Typical GSM Build)
Ply Example GSM Combination Application
3 Ply 140 / 120 / 140 Light to medium products
5 Ply 180 / 120 / 140 / 120 / 180 Heavy products, stacking
7 Ply 200 / 150 / 180 / 150 / 180 / 150 / 200 Export, very heavy loads
(Top / Flute / Liner / Flute / Bottom pattern)
4) Strength Parameters (on request)
Bursting Strength (BS): e.g., 9–35+ kg/cm²
Edge Crush Test (ECT) for stacking strength
Compression strength for load bearing
