al-ouds oud shrilanka this is one lovely and extremely rare oud oil that is coming to the edge of extinction. in the middle east specifically, the persian-arabic gulf region where 70% of the world oud consumption takes place, this oud is extremely loved and demanded while many of the new oud enthusiasts and lovers seek the “indian” and “cambodian” for their projection and longevity in all their different kinds and forms, this is more of a special oud or something for the experts and the experienced. believe it or not, the aged pure sri lankan oud oil can fetch as much as ten times the price of the indian grades and sometimes even more. this oil has a very different profile from the cambodian and the indian, it’s more settled, calm, and smooth; doesn’t have as much of an animalistic tone and raw notes. the character is smooth, sweet, fruity the first nose has a little herbal note (because of the age) after few second it opens to a sweeter aromatic ray of notes with hints of coffee, smoke, leather, and oak trees the texture is heavy, sticky, and dark (like any good top-grade oud oil) if you are a collector or serious about oud then this is something that you have to try
