Rotary Kilns Tyre Grinding is a precision on-site service performed to restore the roundness and correct surface profile of the kiln tyre (riding ring) while the kiln remains in operation. The grinding process is carried out using a portable grinding machine mounted on the kiln shell, which ensures continuous rotation during the operation. The grinding restores the tyre surface to a concentric, true cylindrical profile and removes flat spots, surface irregularities, shell-to-tyre contact marks, and excessive wear. The typical grinding accuracy is within 0.2 mm, with surface roughness improved to Ra 3.2 m. The service is applicable for tyres of diameters ranging from 1 meter to 6 meters. No kiln shutdown is required, and vibration levels are monitored throughout. The service is compliant with OEM alignment tolerances and designed to extend the life of the tyre, prevent mechanical stress, and improve kiln stability during rotation.
