Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid (EDTA) is insoluble in cold water, alcohol and general organic solvent, slightly soluble in hot water, but soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia solution.EDTA is commonly used in food and beverages as a preservative and stabilizer and protects food products from discoloration and oxidation.
