HOW TO COOK OUR BASMATI



  • Wash 250g of Royal Basmati Rice thoroughly and soak for 20mins.

  • Add rice to 2 pints of lightly salted boiling water, boil for 10 minutes.

  • Drain in a sieve.

  • Transfer the rice into a serving bowl and stir in a little butter or margarine (whichever is preferred) to maintain separation of grain - then serve.

WHAT IS GRAM FLOUR?

Amar 551 pure Gram Flour is made from 100% pure Chana Dal (Yellow Gram) and is perfect for preparing Onion bhajias, traditional potato and vegetable pakoras and some sweet dishes.


RECIPE SUGGESTIONS -PAKORAS (BHAJEES)
Ingredients

  • 500g Amar 551 Gram Flour

  • 1tbsp Garam Masala

  • 1tsp of fresh crushed ginger or puree

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 2 sliced onions

  • 1 diced potato

  • Chopped coriander leaves

  • pint of warm water



DIRECTIONS

Mix all the dry ingredients tighter and slowly add the water to blend into a thick batter. Add the onions, potato and coriander and mix together and leave mixture for about 10 minutes. Take a heaped spoon of the mix and carefully drop in hot oil in a deep fryer. Fry for about 3 minutes until golden brown or cooked.
