Series Reactors For Harmonic Filter










Standard design of 7 % copper wound series reactors for all kVAR ratings is available. These reactors are manufactured using super-enameled copper wire and CRGO steel.

The reactors we manufacture are tested at ERDA, Baroda. These reactors are with lowest losses, and linearity of 180 % and above.

Harmonic Filter Cubicles











These are stand-alone units with different ratings starting from 15-kVAR to 75-kVAR. These are normally used across individual loads, where the Reactive Power Compensation is required at the load end itself to reduce the line current.


These can be switched ON or OFF with current logic. Supplied optionally with incoming switch fuse unit.


The Harmonic Filter switching is either through thyristors or contactors.

Harmonic Filter Panels

The basic purpose here is centralized Reactive Power Compensation with Harmonic Mitigation. Automatic control is provided using Automatic Power Factor Control relays.


The switching of individual steps is through contactors or thyristors. With thyristor switching it is possible to have panels at higher voltages (upto 690 V), and with large size of single step (108-kVAR).


Based on the load variation pattern, the minimum and maximum size of steps can be determined to maintain optimum power factor. These will help partly mitigate the harmonics from the system.

Electronic Manual Switch For APFC Panels








This switch is designed and developed in-house. In order to switch capacitor banks in Manual mode, it is necessary to wire up the panels with multiple auxiliary contactors, push-buttons, indicating lamps, timers, etc. The functionality of all the sundry switchgear is built into this electronic module.


The required controlled wiring is reduced to 1/10th of what is required with conventional wiring set-up. Feedback indications are provided with LEDs on the Electronic Manual Switch to confirm the capacitor step status (ON or OFF).


Different versions of this electronic manual switch are available, incorporating fault annunciations, and setting features.

Thyristor Switches























Based on the principal of zero' voltage turn-on and zero' current turn off for capacitors, these switches are manufactured with thyristors in R' and B' phases. Switching times of 40 mili-seconds is possible with these switches.

These switches are supplied with heat-sinks for thyristors, and plug-in type control cards, which are very easy to replace. Entire range from lowest kVAR to 100-kVAR @ 433 V of capacitors for single step is available.
