Straightening is done on Multiple Roll Straightening Machines to achieve accuracy up 1mm: 1000mm Straightness. Air Preheater tubesare essentially a type ofHeat exchanger tubesuse for the purpose of heating air which is further used in other applications like Boilers, Dryers etc.An air preheater(APH)is a general term used to describe any device designed to heat air before another process (for example, combustion in aboiler ) with the primary objective of increasing the thermal efficiency of the process . The air passing through the Air Pre Heater is heated by allowing the air to flow on the Outer Surface of the tubes which have a highly heated fluid flowing inside through them. The heat is exchanged over the surface of these tubes and which in turn raises the temperature of the Air flowing over it. The heat transfer can further be improved by use of finned tubes(increasing the contact surface area) .
Air preheater tubesare made from Cold Drawing process and are generally of Carbon Steel material. The application of these tubes is in an area where the tubes is not subjected to extremely high temperatures and pressures. Hence, the use of Carbon Steel tubes in applications for Air Preheater Tubes is generally preferable. There are various types of Air Preheaters; one of them widely used is Tubular Type Air Preheater. In this type of Air Preheater, straighttubebundles are used, which pass through the outlet ducting of the boiler and open at each end outside of the ducting, The hot furnace gases pass around the air preheater tubes, transferring heat from the exhaust gas to the air inside the preheater. Ambient air is forced by a fan through ducting at one end of the air preheater tubes and at other end the heated air from inside of the tubes emerges into another set of ducting, which carries it to the boiler furnace for combustion. There are other Heat Exchangers like Regenerative Heat Exchangers, Recuperators, economizers which also make use of Air preheater tubes (Heat Exchanger Tubes)

Extruded Fin Tubesare heat exchanger tubes mainly required to transfer heat from a flowing fluid and cooling it down by passing air on the fins of the tubes. Inextruded fin tubesthe surface area of heat transfer is increased because of the increased height of the fins thereby causing it to become more exposed to the flowing air. Moreover in this process the thickness of the fin is also very low causing the heat transfer to become more efficient. The extruded fin tubes are used mainly where the atmosphere is corrosive and the heat transfer required is higher. Extruded fin tubesare mainly manufactured by extruding fins from the base material itself. It is generally manufactured using bimetallic combinations where the base tube can be made of Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, etc and the fin material is Aluminum or Copper etc. In the process of manufacturingExtruded Fin Tube, a Muff Tube (Outer) and a Base tube (Inner) are used. The base tube is inserted inside the muff tube. Then the fining is done by extruding the fins from the Muff Tube. During the process the muff tube forms a very strong bond with the Base tube ensuring almost no air gap or non contact area between the Muff Tube and the Base Tube. There is 100 % contact between the Base and the Muff Tube in Extruded Fin Tubes. This increases the surface area and gives the best heat transfer.
