LEAF PAINTS RED OXIDE PRIMER is an economic alkyd based primer suitable for mild steel surface. Red Oxide Primer is an oil modified alkyd based primer suitably pigmented with micro fine red oxide and extenders. This metal oxide primer is ideal for ferrous metal surfaces. It is free from heavy metals like lead, mercury and chromium.

 

Preparation- The surface must be clean, smooth, sound, dry, free from wax, dust and contaminates. The bare metal should be clean and free from rust. Existing rust may be removed with Rustin’s Rust Remover.

 

Coats-1 coat is usually sufficient. A second coat may be applied if required. Sand lightly between coats if required.

 

COVERAGE- 3.25sq.m or 35 sq ft per 250ml tin, depending on the absorbency of the surface.

 

HAZARDS

  • Flammable. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Keep away from sources of ignition no smoking.
  • After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser.
  • Use only in well ventilated areas.
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
  • Do not use solvent or White Spirit.
