PTA Welding Equipment

Specifications

PTA welding equipment for reclamation, hard facing and repair.

Process:

Plasma Transferred Arc is used for welding at high arc travel speeds. For initiating a transferred arc, a current limiting resistor is put in the circuit, which permits a flow of about 50 amps, between the nozzle and electrode and a pilot arc is established between the electrode and the nozzle. As the pilot arc touches the job main current starts flowing between electrode and job, thus igniting the transferred arc. The pilot arc initiating unit gets disconnected and pilot arc extinguishes as soon as the arc between the electrode and the job is started. This process provides minimal dilution and high resistance to chipping because of its dense metallurgical structure, free of voids, oxide films, and discontinuities. Used on parts subject to corrosion, thermal shock, severe abrasion, slurry erosion, or extreme impact forces to increase component life.

Features:

  • Reduces Cost - Restoring a worn part to "as new" condition generally costs between 20-70% of a brand new replacement part.
  • Prolongs Equipment Life -Service life increases of 3 to 10 times are common with properly overlaid parts.
  • Reduces Downtime - Parts last longer and fewer shutdowns are required.
  • Less Spare Parts Inventory -There is no need to keep numerous spare parts when worn parts can be rebuilt.
  • High Quality Deposit - It produces a very high quality deposit offering optimal protection with minimal dilution or deformation of the base material.
  • Precise Coating - It is a process that deposits very precise coatings of perfectly controlled alloys on mechanical parts that are subject to intense wear, significantly extending their service life.
  • Protection - Corrosion, thermal shock and abrasion.
  • Metal buildup / Reclamation- Certain alloys are made to rebuild a part to a required dimension while others are designed to be a final overlay that protects the work surface.

Micro Plasma Welding Machine

Specifications

Manufacturers of Micro Plasma welding systems for precision welding of small parts.

Process:

Plasma welding is very similar to TIG as the arc is formed between a pointed tungsten electrode and the work-piece. However, by positioning the electrode within the body of the torch, the plasma arc can be separated from the shielding gas envelope. Plasma is then forced through a fine-bore copper nozzle which constricts the arc. The micro-plasma arc can be operated at very low welding currents.Micro-plasma is traditionally used for welding thin sheets (down to 0.1 mm thickness), and wire and mesh sections, tubes and various delicate assemblies and parts with great precision and reliability.

Features:

  • IGBT inverter based with integrated HF start system. PLC sequencer for automatic operation and integration with welding lathe / positioner / turntable / linear welding fixture etc.
  • Wave Correction Technique - Milli second square wave correction technique for fast correction of welding current irrespective of arc length or input voltage variation.
  • Stable Arc - PLL based closed loop system for highly stable arc.
  • Low Metal Thickness - The Machine is capable of welding metal sheet of capability from 10 microns to 3mm thickness.
  • Low distortion and less tension.
  • Pulsed current at high frequency, up slope and down slope for current provided.
  • Manual as well as Robotic Torch - A manual torch and a machine torch available for manual or mechanized operation.
  • Programmable - The machine is fully programmable with built in welding cycle timer in the auto mode.
  • Digital Version - Digital version available on demand with computer interface for automatic welding with turntable / welding lathe / linear welding automation as required.

Plasma Welding Machine

Weld in a single pass up to 6 mm plates in square butt position and 10 mm plates in only two passes

HF arcing system.

IGBT inverter based with analog/digital controls & integrated

Programmable Current and Gas down Slope available for automatic closing of key hole during mechanized welding.

Recessed electrode reduces the possibility of tungsten inclusions in the weld and can substantially increase the period between electrode dressings resulting in increased life.

Weld in a single pass up to 6 mm plates in square butt position and 10 mm plates in only two passes.

Keyhole mode of welding gives smaller heat affected zone resulting in reduced strength loss at the joint for heat treated metals, promotes less grain growth which gives better ductility.

Reduced weld time results in less embrittlement by carbides and complex inter-metallic compounds for stainless steel and super alloys
