Eco-camps

Arohi has been arranging special Eco-camps for school and college students for many years. We provide ideal campsites near Manali and Solang Valley with all arrangements. In these camps, we provide talks on the environment, the flora and fauna of the region and other interesting anecdotes of the hills. Our camp includes tents, nutritious food, well-trained camp guides, staff and cook. We provide complete camping equipment. However, you are free to bring your own sleeping bags. Our daily schedule includes walks into the surrounding mountains and lecture to be delevired on the Flora and Fauna. Besides this, we also take you on a programme of River Crossing and Rock Climbing. Arohi affords you a great outdoor experience in the mountains.
Arohi conducts an Environment and Nature Conservation Camp every year hundreads of students participating in these camps. These Camps are held in Manali region. The main emphasis of this camp was to educate the students regarding the problems and importance of protecting the environment and to eradicate the pollution in the hills. The students were also educated on the basic values of our natural resources and wild life and how to preserve and protect them. Wild Life Conservation was also an important feature in this camp.

Special 10-day Trekking and Nature Study Camp :

Day1: Arrival at Manali. Report in base camp.
Day 2: Acclimatization.
Day 3: Short trek in and around Manali.
Day 4: Base Camp to Solang Valley (Advance Camp). The enchanting and glaciated valley. It is famous for Snow-skiing during winter.
Day 5: Solang-Dhundi-Beaskund
Beaskund is the place where Rishi Beas took his bath and famous river Beas originates from this glacier.
Day 6: Solang-Patalsu Peak
A pleasant gradien today, leads you towards the magnificent peak.
Day 7: Rest day or group can visit 13, 500 ft high Rohtang Pass by special local bus.
Day 8: Short trek to Glacier.
This glacier has hordes of colourful flowers growing in abundance.
Day 9: Solang-Manali Base Camp
Leaving the beautiful camp site, a short walk and indeed a most pleasant one lies the main Base Camp.

Mountain Expedition

The Indian Himalayas offer the mountaineer some of the most challenging peaks in the world. Arohi means Summiteer and we have years of experience planning logistics for mountain expeditions and mountaineering trips. We help you with choosing the right peak, technical details, and camp equipment, experienced climbing staff and transport arrangements.

All climbing expeditions have to pay a peak royalty to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation who assigns a Liaison officer to accompany the expedition. Peak royalties range from US$ 1500 to $ 4000 depending on the height of the peak and the region. The IMF also provides the facilities of walkie-talkies at a nominal fee.

Arohi helps you arrange permission and other necessary formalities with the IMF and facilitates your expedition arrangements. The best season for climbing in the Western Himalayas is April to early October. July and August are ideal for climbing in Ladakh and Zanskar as these regions lie in the rain shadow and are unaffected by the monsoon.
