Fairness has traditionally been considered the most desired ingredient, if not the key ingredient, when one thinks of beauty. It is thus hardly a surprise that cosmetic manufacturing companies is full of creams and other products promising fairer or whiter skin. Unfortunately, most such claims are unfounded as it is nearly impossible to change the natural complexion of the body. Unlike other alternatives, body tan removal products only promise to remove the tan. Both skin colour and tan are caused by what is called the colour pigment called Melanin. Let us understand this pigment a little.
MelaninMelanin is the colouring pigment responsible for the colour of the skin. Its formation tends to increase due to increased exposure to sunlight, which creates ‘tan’ or darker skin. The Working of Body Tan Removal CreamsThe body tan removal creams work by slowly removing the excessive tan from the skin. However, it must be noted that it won’t bring any magical changes to natural skin colour though there may be a difference in a couple of shades. Secondly, the effects it does achieve may not be permanent as some skin tend to produce a lot of Melanin naturally.
