COW DUNG VACUUM TANK

Cleaning the manure from cowsheds has become a great problem for the dairy farmer, especially when expanding and increasing the number of cows on his farm. Systems have been implemented to mechanize the activities to handle the manure which are collecting , transporting , storing , spreading on fields and other ideas how to re-use this manure.

Manure is often defined as an agro-waste, but should become another resource which could positively add to the economic performance of the dairy farm as an integrated unit. Today great emphasis is put on returning our ecological systems into a balance ! The vacuum tanker cleans the semi-dry / wet manure directly from the concrete lanes along the feeding alleys and from yards, using its unique scraper and vacuum power to collect the manure into the tanker, from where ever the cow has dropped the manure. No more endless scraping around and problematic interim storage pits.

The tanker is equipped with a boom for cleaning pits and or slurry tanks. With the flexible hose the farmer is able to empty all manure pools which are unfortunately part of many dairy farms. One machine to create a cleaner production environment for the cow and the farmer!

The units are custom made , can be operated by a tractor or can be mounted on a truck with tank capacities varying from 8000 - 9000 ltrs. Size should take into consideration all operational aspects and existing structures.

As the manure is collected into a closed container, it is easily transported outside the perimeters of the dairy farm itself, eliminating the side effects such as flies, smell, etc. of storing the manure on the farm itself. During transportation the manure is mixed and homogenized in the tanker.

The tanker has an integrated spreader, enabling the farmer to spread the manure on agricultural fields and re-use it as part of the fertilizers required by the crop. Spreading on fields is of course done according to the growing cycle of these crops.

Cow Hoof Trimmer

A common misconception is that hoof damage is caused by rough tracks and constant walking to and from the sheds. This is incorrect. Hoof damage starts from the inside out; not from the outside in. Nutrition is critical. If the cow is in optimal condition its hooves will be strong and healthy and able to resist normal wear and tear of every day milking. Softer, well maintained tracks and sheds helps but the main point is that proper nutrition is the key factor in preventing lameness. The best method of feeding is one that avoids rumen upset, so careful phasing of the herd between feed types is required.

Hoof trimming to treat
Hoof trimming has two major objectives, namely: to promote optimal conditions of hoof conformation and locomotion according to the conditions of the management system, and secondly to detect and treat hoof disorders before more serious problems develop and cause lameness. In contradiction a common strategy in many herds is to call for the hoof trimmer or veterinarian to treat cows when acute need of trimming is detected. Then many cows have already decreased their performance and suffered for no use. half of the cows in each herd were randomly selected to be trimmed an extra time, four months before the yearly scheduled trimming. When comparing hoof disorders at the spring trimming, the animals with one trimming had 67 % more lameness and 57 % more sole ulcers than those trimmed twice.

Acute treatments between trimmings were very rare in the group trimmed twice. Moreover, sole ulcers detected at the extra trimming, had a high recovery rate (80 %). For infectious diseases the extra trimming did not have a significant preventative effect . Functional trimming is recommended but the quality of hoof trimming should be better followed up. Hoof shape and posture change in an attempt to compensate for physiological and environmental challenges. Harsh surfaces disturb the balance between outer and inner digits of the rear feet, resulting in an asymmetry between them and disposition for hoof injuries and lameness. Correct foot trimming and a soft foundation can equalize the weight distribution between the claws and restore the sole concavity by putting more .

Cow Mat

Introduction:Research has indicated that cows spend an average daily resting time of 15 hrs in pasture, however, when confined to a barn that resting time is significantly less. The Bakhsish Industry recreates the characteristics of a pasture therefore increasing the amount of rest time. The difference is due to the surface the cow lays on. Installation of the Pasture Mat system provides ideal indoor surfaces needed for the cows comfort. Strong, durable, and easy to maintain, Pasture Mat absorbs the shock repeated impacts and eliminates the risk of injury.

There are 3 main reasons why installing the Pasture Mat system is the right choice for you and your cows.

1. Cow ComfortPasture Mat close-upA comfortable cow is a healthy, productive, stress free animal.Pasture Mat provides a resilient stall surface that mimics nature.Pasture Mat provides a firm, but soft footing with no pillowing inwards. This is an ideal surface for bedding materials.Unlike our competitors, Pasture Mat also takes into account a vital and relatively unknown fact of cow physiology: the free fall. In the process of lying down, a cow actually freefalls the last 10-12 inches (25-30 cm). As you can imagine, the impact of a 1500 pound (690 kg) animal on a hard concrete floor is considerable. Pasture Mat is shock absorbent and will greatly reduce the risk of injury.

COW DUNG SCRAPER

Floor surface
The quality of the floors has a big influence on the visibility of heat detection signs. With a non-slippery surface, cows are much more likely to exhibit the activity signs of estrus.

Floor Hygiene
The hygiene of barn floors has considerable impact on animal health. Problem floors impact the hoof, the udder and milk quality. The design of floors is therefore very important for long-term, consistently profitable, milk production. The floor is the part of the barn with which the animals are in closest contact. Manure produces an unfavorable environment for hooves by macerating digital skin and horn tissue. It also provides a growth medium for contagious agents.

Core benefits

  • Mainly for manure slurry
  • Rubber strip to ease wear on concrete
  • From 8 to 13 feet width
  • 3, 1 meters/min speeds.
  • Can control speed.

Features
Bakhsish Industry Cow Dung Scraper is developed for optimum cow safety. It has a smooth, low design and is equipped with a rubber strip to ease the wear on a concrete floor. scraper DML and cow safety system complement each other perfectly.

Advantages
Cow safety system controls and supervises the scraper for you automatically stopping if it detects unfamiliar obstacles like an injured cow lying down. The system stops, checks twice if the obstacle still remains and if so, the scraper changes to another non-cleaned alley. The system also has automatic start and stop, plus a free choice of parking site without using a position indicator in the alleys.

COW HEAD LOCK

Use headlocks in free stall barnsDairy cows need many routine treatments and check-ups to stay productive and healthy. In conventional barns (tie-stall & stanchion), this intensive management is relatively easy. In freestall barns, with cows on the loose, it can become a challenge to find individual cows and treat them. Installing and using headlocks (self-locking headgates) can be a profitable way to solve this problem!

Animal handlingWith intensive management, each cow may need individual attention for important check-ups or treatments up to 50 times per lactation cycle. Headlocks make it easy to identify animals and make it possible to carry out the work safely and efficiently. Without headlocks, animals are on the loose, and need to be located and identified. The animals then need to be separated from their group and moved to a central pen. After the treatment or checkup is finished, the animals need to be re-sorted and moved back to their original pens. When there are headlocks in the animals regular pens, the animals can restrain themselves, they are presented for easy identification and they do not need to be moved away from their pens. Headlocks can save a total of about 133 hrs/yr in a herd of 125 cows and replacements by reducing this kind of routine animal handling.

Feed intake and milk production
Some studies have been interpreted to mean that cows eat less feed when using headlocks as compared to postand- rail feed barriers. However, other research suggests that what may look like decreased feed intake actually is decreased feedout loss, since cows restrained in headlocks are less able to toss and drop feed into the scrape alley.

COW CUBICLES
