This gorgeous cushion cover is made using traditional Kantha fabric. The fabric is a quilted cotton fabric hand-stitched to create the Kantha design.
Kantha originated from the way in which Bengali women mended old clothes by taking out a strand of thread from the colorful border of their saris and making simple designs with them. This has developed into the style we see today, where multiple layers of fabric are hand-stitched together using colored threads, creating a quilted fabric with stitched patterns.
Please note: our cushion covers are handmade from traditionally produced textiles which will have inherent imperfections in printing and weaving.
The cushion covers are cut from one bolt of fabric, so each cover will display a different section of the printed design. The cushion cover you receive may not be an exact match to the one pictured, and to make the best use of the fabric with minimum waste, we will use two pieces of the same fabric instead of a single piece, but with a conscious effort to maintain a cohesive look.
We try to represent the true color of the product as best possible, but please be aware that factors such as screen quality can cause slight differences in color.
If you are purchasing a pair, please note some of our Kantha covers have a border, and some do not. Please check before purchasing to avoid disappointment.
