Heptanoic anhydride. Also known as Enanthic anhydride is a fatty acid anhydride. It is used in steroids and hormones as a ester of it. Testosterone enanthate is well known example of it. Heptanoic anhydride is used in PHARMA industries as well as in perfumery industries also. Allyl heptanoates and ethyl heptanoates are known for fragrance in flavour industries.
