The CG Feeder Remote Terminal Unit (FRTU) is an intelligent electronic device designed for use in feeder automation. The device acquires data from the feeders & transfers it to the main Control Station. FRTU is highly modular, featuring flexibility to interchange its IO modules which provides an advantage of easy maintenance & upgradation. It provides wide range of communication interfaces including Ethernet, RS 232 & RS 485. FRTU supports multiple industry standard protocols, including IEC 60870- 5-101 Slave, IEC 60870-5-104 Slave, IEC 60870-5-103 Master & Modbus-RTU Master, so that a wide range of IEDs can be integrated & the required data is communicated back to the main Control Centres. The FRTU is ideally suited to Distribution Automation where it can monitor groundmounted RMUs as well as offering a costeffective solution for extensible MVLV switchgear applications and LV feeder monitoring.
