Musli is sweet, cooling, carminative, tonic, anti-pyretic, mucilaginous, nutritive, aphrodisiac, stimulant and tonic.It is used for sexual weakness, low libido, low sperm count, etc. as a tonic for the reproductive system for men and women. It is also found to be effective in cough and asthma. It is prepared as a paste with goats milk or honey and applied locally over the face to brighten complexion. The root extract is effective on the urinary system and is considered to be diuretic in action; it is given in dysuria, poluria, gonorrhoea in addition to the menorrhagia, leucorrhoea, piles and leucoderma. The drug is considered to be an alternative appetiser, fattening and restorative in diabetes, obesity and immunity problems. It is also employed in opthalmic conditions, vomiting, dyspepsia, lumbago, pain in the joints and in the diseases of nerves.
