The government is giving a subsidy for the registration of barcode of a company and the subsidy is 75 per cent of the cost. Apart from the fact that the government is giving incentives on the use of barcodes there is also a competitive advantage to the company as this will stop fake products from being sold in the market, As of now, the barcode is mandatory for export of pharma productsrnThe basic objective of financial assistance is to enhance the marketing competitiveness of Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) by way of:rnProviding 75% of one-time registration fee and annual recurring fee (for first three years) paid by MSEs to GS1 India.rnPopularizing the adoption of bar codes on large scale amongst MSEs, andrnMotivating and encouraging MSEs for use of bar codes through conducting seminars on Bar Code, etc.
