Customsized Plastics White Nylon 6 isthe generic name for a family of long-chain polymeric amides. General characteristics of the nylons include toughness, strength, abrasion and fatigue resistance, low coefficient of friction, resiliency and heat resistance. Many of these properties can be enhanced by the addition of fillers such as molybdenum disulphide. Nylons are resistant to hydrocarbons, alkalies, ketones and esters. Nylon sheet which has not been compounded with UV stabilizers are sensitive to ultraviolet light. These compounds should not be used for extended outdoor service. Carbonblack (our black Nylon Sheet) is the most effective of the UV stabilizers. These additives also increase tensile strength and hardness and decrease ductility and toughness slightly.
