Copper clad aluminium busbar consists of a solid core of electrical grade aluminium with a pressure bonded outer layer of high conductivity copper. This compound has both advantages of better conductivity of copper and lower density of aluminium. It can reduce cost by up to 40% compared with a copper bar of equal dimensions. It offers economical solution and weight saving advantages over solid copper, while retaining the surface properties of a copper busbar. This yields the maximum cost saving.
