IntroductionCefixime 200 mg is an antibiotic medicine used to treat many infections such as urinary infections, lung and ear infections caused by bacteria. It is known as cephalosporin drug and works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It has advantage of once daily dosing. It is used alone or with other anti biotic for better effect. This medication is not recommended for infection caused by virus (common cold, flu). It is effective against the infections caused by bacterial only.

Precautions

• Before taking cefuroxime, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to penicillins or other cephalosporin antibiotics (e.g., cephalexin); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
• Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, intestinal disease (colitis), liver disease, poor nutrition.

Missed DoseIf you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip themissed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

StorageStore the suspension in a refrigerator between 36-46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C).
