These surfaces offer maximum comfort under foot, exceptional ball bounce, ball roll characteristics, good ball control and are filled with a sand and rubber granule to form a rubber crumb sports pitch. They are reliant on regular maintenance and infill levels should be checked weekly. To maintain the playing performance over a longer period of time a shockpad is recommended for use with any surfaces with a pile height under 60mm.

The base surface will have to uniform and hard. It cannot be installed over an existing grass surface as that would make the Artificial Grasses dimensionally unstable and, due to the uneven nature of the base, the joints would also show. Hence the important requirement of a level base surface.
