The sensor automatically turns the unit ON in dark hours and switches it OFF during the morning eliminating the need for manual monitoring or controls. The poles have been made of galvanized iron that has been powder coated so will not rust even after decades of outdoor rain & sunshine. This unit is a complete package in itself and can be used practically anywhere there is a moderate amount of sunshine. The panels have been equipped with a reverse current blocking diode to prevent reverse flow of current from battery to the panel in dark hours. The could go for more than 21 hours on full battery charge, which means the batteries discharge only around 50% during the course of a day thus allowing a longer battery life and allowing energy reserves for 1 day.
