It is used as Lubricant, preservative cum cleaning agent for small arms and machine guns at medium and high temperatures. It is not recommended where oil is in prolonged contact with brass components.

The specification includes tests for foreign particles, oil separation, evaporation loss, water absorption, copper corrosion, oxidation stability, working stability in the presence of water, roll stability, roller bearing performance, extreme pressure properties, wear preventive characteristics, rust preventive properties, apparent viscosity at minus 54C and storage stability.Uses: General purpose lubricant for automotive and artillery applications, operate dover the temperature range of minus 54C to plus 105C.
