vacuum box is used for checking leaks on tank bottom surface.
vacuum box is used to check for any leaks or faults in the welding of bottom and annular plates of the tank. it is a container made of acrylic sheet with an inlet valve connecting to the vacuum pump. the vacuum pump attached creates a vacuum in the vacuum box, which shows bubbles on the soap water applied on the weld incase of any leaks or weld defects. it is one of the most adaptive method to test for any defects or leaks in the bottom and as efficient as radiography is for shell weld tests
ndt inspection by vacuum box (bubble) test
1. vacuum box bubble test is one of the safest and reliable non-destructive test method.
2. the vacuum box bubble test can locate leaks in the test area that cannot be directly pressurized.
3. the test is performed by applying a detergent solution on the test area and creating a vacuum around the test surface by external mechanism e.g. vacuum box.
4. the detergent solution will bubble if there is any leakage through the test area.
5. your person should be trained and experienced in vacuum box bubble test method in accordance with asme v, appendix ii.
6. confirm to standard of measurement as per 1. api-650 (latest edition) 7.3.4 & 8.6 eleventh edition 2. asme sec-v
MAXON RED -LEAD INTENSIFYING SCREENS
We take pleasure in introducing an absolutely new product that will change the way you have been doing film radiography work. The product is "MAXON" Lead Intensifying screens.
Lead Screens shall change the whole concept of Film Radiography- providing:
1. Better Image quality 2. Longer Life 3. Ease in handling.
These are conventional Lead Screens but with a difference.
The Lead foil is Laminated on a PET sheet (a type of plastic sheet for mounting).
This results in the following advantages.
a) PET sheet base has long stable quality, unlike the cardboard mounting sheets; which have less strength, are soft, and tend to absorb moisture. This results in loss of shape and cracking.
b) PET sheet being stronger adds strength and is immune to moisture. Advantage: Long Life.
c) The quality of Lead Foil remains the same throughout its life.
d) Ease in handling while loading films / Cassettes in the darkroom.
e) Higher Lead foil thickness. Lead Foil thickness is 0.125 mm (Instead of 0.100 mm) which provides a better quality image and longer working life.

The twin shot injection moulded enclosure has a soft but durable TPE outer skin which is comfortable to hold and protects against bumps while the hard internal shell offers maximum strength and environmental protection certified to the demanding US MIL STD 810G standard.
The unit still relies on Multiple-Echo to provide simple and accurate measurements, with the added benefit of Echo-Echo and Single-Echo using twin crystal probes for extreme corrosion. Echo-Echo for measurements on painted metals but with heavy back wall corrosion / pitting and Single-Echo for measurements on uncoated surfaces with heavy front face and/or back-wall corrosion and attenuative materials such as cast metals or plastics / composites.

MEY 1is a portable, self-contained instrument designed to produce a magnetic field on ferrous-magnetic materials. Constant AC mode produces an intense AC field for detection of surface defects.
One significant feature of BL-100 is that it has a built-in, quiet-operating fan located at the rear of the lamp housing.
The advantage of this design feature is obvious dramatically reduced running temperature. In practical terms, the fan-cooled BL-100 means more comfort and safety for operators plus longer bulb life.
As the black lights are often hand-held during fluorescent inspections, the heat they create is an important consideration. The typical running temperature of the BL -100F is less than 30 degrees Celcius , so it does not significantly raise the ambient temperature around the operator, nor is it a safety concern.

mechanical vacuum pumps use the same pumping mechanism as air compressors, except that the unit is installed so that air is drawn from a closed volume and exhausted to the atmosphere. a major difference between a vacuum pump and other types of pumps is that the pressure driving the air into the pump is below atmospheric and becomes vanishingly small at higher vacuum levels

the direct-reading dosimeters are rugged, precision instruments. they are designed to measure and directly read, at any time accumulated dose of gamma and x-ray radiation exposure. the direct-reading dosimeter is designed to satisfy military specifications for the im-series radiac meter and ansi n13.5 and n322 requirements. the sturdy metal clip attaches the dosimeter to a pocket or any object to monitor total radiation exposure. they are hermetically-sealed and immersion proof.

the direct-reading dosimeter is a pocket-size, carbon-fiber electroscope with an ion chamber for detecting and indication of integrated exposure to gamma and x-ray radiation. it has a thin wall which permits the penetration and detection of radiation. this model comes with a hardened sapphire window that won't scratch even in the toughest of conditions.
dosimeters are extremely sensitive instruments. although they are constructed for rugged use, they should receive the same care as a wristwatch. since dosimeters are hermetically sealed at the factory, they cannot be repaired or adjusted in the field. therefore, if instrument malfunctioning is experienced, the instrument should be returned to the factory or your dealer. dosimeters may be maintained in operating condition simply by cleaning the eyepiece lens and the charging switch insulator with clean water and a cloth that is free of lint and grit. make sure the charging switch insulator is absolutely free of lint and moisture at all times. caution: do not insert any sharp objects into, or tamper with parts in the charging switch recess. irreparable damage may be done.
