Blow-down tanks are used as an alternative system for cooling the bottom boiler blow-down. These large tanksretain the blow-down water volume from one blow after the flash steam has been vented to the atmosphere and allow the water to cool down by natural convection over 6-12 hour period. The cooled water will be below 140° F when it is displaced by the next blow down and forced out of the overflow drainpipe

Boiler feed water is water used to supply a boiler to generate steam or hot water. At thermal power stations the feed water is usually stored, pre-heated and conditioned in a feed water tank and forwarded into the boiler by a boiler feed water pump.

  Super heater coils are used in a boiler to generate saturated steam. These super heater coils are used in primary or secondary stages of super heaters of Thermal Power Plants or Captive Power Plants.

A Deaerator is a device that is widely used for the removal of oxygen and other dissolved gases from the feed water to steam-generatng boilers. Most Deaerators are designed to remove oxygen down to levels of 7 ppb by weight (0.005 cm³5L) or less as well as essentially eliminating carbon dioxide.

Boiler headers are manifolds that tie multiple steam mains to one boiler, or multiple boilers to one or more steam mains. Boiler headers must be properly trapped in order to prevent carryover from the boiler from being introduced into the steam mains. Boiler carryover consists of any water solids that are carried out of the boiler and launched into the system

a.  A water tube boiler is a type of boiler in which water circulates in tubes heated externally by the fire. Fuel is burned inside the furnace, creating hot gas which heats water in the steam-generating tubes.   b.  Water wall panels are used in Waste Heat recovery boilers. Economizer coils are used in downstream of Boiler bank to preheat the feed water absorbing heat from hot exhaust gases.Economizers are always water tube type. Economizers have different types of Tubes depending upon the application. Bare tubes in Economizers are widely used in Industrial boilers and for applications like Heat recovery boilers. Finned tubes are popular in HRSG applications. Feed water can be heated up to a level about 20 – 30O C below saturation temperature of the boiler.
